New Year's Resolutions

Last year my single resolution was to be able to touch my toes without bending my knees. I didn't come close. If anything I got further away.

This year my resolutions are:

1) Drink a maximum of two cups of coffee a day. This is hard when you're a teacher.

2) Do at least one cultural thing a month. This month I went to Madrid. Bars, cafés, discos and a Real Madrid lack cultural value when taken individually. As a weekend collection I think I can just about claim it. What I really have in mind are museums, expos, theatre, perhaps even some of that legendary French cinema I've read so much about.

3) Visit at least one town or city in Brussels a month. In a year and a half the only city I've visited of my own accord has been Leuven. The others were Louvain La Neuve and La Hulpe, for a job interview and a funeral respectively. Oh yeah, and Tervuren.

4) Go to the gym at least twice a week. At 67 euros a month I really need to.

5) Read something in French everyday.

With January nearly at an end I can say that I've succeeded in all but number three. It's pathetic when you consider how small Brussels is.

shurely "in Belgium" rather than "in Brussels" isn't it ? Maybe that lack of coffee is getting to you ?
